Polynucleotides (PDRN)
Regenerate. Repair. Renew.
The Treatment
What are Polynucleotides?
Polynucleotides (also known as PDRN) are one of the most genuinely exciting developments in skin treatment in recent years. Unlike hyaluronic acid treatments that hydrate or fill, polynucleotides work at a cellular level to regenerate and repair skin tissue from the inside out.
They are derived from highly purified salmon DNA, which has a molecular structure very close to human DNA, making it highly compatible with the body. When introduced into the skin, polynucleotides trigger the production of new collagen and elastin, accelerate cellular repair, and improve the overall condition and resilience of the skin over time.
The results are progressive rather than instant, building and improving across a course of sessions. Clients often describe their skin looking clearer, firmer and more luminous, with improvements in texture, tone and fine lines that continue to develop over several weeks.
What can polynucleotides treat?
Polynucleotides work particularly well for improving overall skin texture and tone, reducing fine lines and crepiness, brightening dull or tired-looking skin, reducing pigmentation and uneven skin tone, improving the under eye area including darkness and fine lines, and addressing skin affected by sun damage or premature ageing.
What does treatment involve?
Polynucleotides are delivered through a series of micro-injections across the treatment area. Sessions typically take around 30 minutes. A course of three sessions spaced three to four weeks apart is recommended for best results, with maintenance sessions every three to six months thereafter.
Who is it suitable for?
Polynucleotides are suitable for most adults and work well as a standalone treatment or alongside Profhilo, dermal filler or anti-wrinkle injections as part of a wider plan.
I use only MHRA-approved products sourced from registered GPhC pharmacies. I hold full medical malpractice insurance.

Polynucleotides (PDRN) FAQs
How many sessions do I need?
A course of 3 sessions spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart gives the best result. Maintenance every 3 to 6 months after that.
Are polynucleotides the same as Profhilo?
No. They work differently. Polynucleotides regenerate skin cells at a cellular level. Profhilo hydrates and firms. They complement each other well.
Is there any downtime?
None. You may have mild redness or swelling at injection sites but this typically settles within a few hours.
Can I combine this with other treatments?
Yes. Polynucleotides work well alongside Profhilo, anti-wrinkle injections and dermal filler as part of a wider treatment plan.
